FBI Safe On-Line
Surfing (SOS) Program
This is a non-profit Internet Safety Program developed
between the FBI and NOVA Southeastern University designed to
help students, parents, and teachers recognize the potential
dangers associated with the internet, email, chat rooms, and
social networking sites. Children sign in, take a pre-quiz,
conduct an on-line Scavenger Hunt through specific sites that
detail safety information, then take a post-quiz.
In December of 2008, the Richmond Division Community Outreach
Specialist distributed FBI SOS packages to the 100+ School
Superintendents in the Richmond Division’s territory asking for
their support of this program. If you haven’t heard of this
program through your school, please visit
